Emerald Isle

We had a great time at the beach, and a lot of relaxing hours, even though it rained almost the whole time. Grandparents took the load off one afternoon and took Laney to the aquarium.

It was super loud since everyone had the same idea as we did... rainy day at the beach? Go to the aquarium!

The gracious family that lets us stay in their condo also has a grandchild, and let us borrow a sand wagon for trips to the beach. Caroline really was as excited as she looks to ride in it.

Laney loved the beach, but would say "ocean? I scared." She preferred playing in the sand.

Laney and Caroline loved Aunt Wilma. Laney started calling her Grandma on her own. She even asked me today where Grandma was and then asked to go to the beach.

Caroline: 8 months

I just saw Caroline's first tooth today! She is crawling all over the place, started climbing up onto the couch, tables, me, and grabs for Laney's food, my food, and even our drinks. She started using a sippy cup with water to appease the desire for Laney's. No more words, but a lot more sounds. Still giggles all the time, and loves to be around people... cries when we leave the room.

Our neighbors to the right have a four-year-old daughter who sometimes plays with Laney. She came over with her old red car the other day and gave it to Laney! (The neighbor now has a power wheels Barbie Escalade) We were so grateful. Laney loves it, asks to ride in it all the time, and Daddy is great at meeting her needs :)

Summertime fun

Nana and Papaw added a fun water-land to our outside toys.

Caroline wasn't crawling at this point, so she stayed next to stuff she could grab and gnaw.

Most of her attention was on Charlie and Laney, but she turns when you call her name.

Laney wanted to know why there was no water in all THREE of the yard pools we have.

Another day... Laney LOVES watching Daddy mow the lawn, and Caroline has picked up the enthusiasm. This was a cool, bug-free alternative.
