Caroline: 9 months

Caroline crawls at the speed of light, stands up against anything she can pull up on, and can get back down very easily. She laughs when you "walk" her around holding her hands. She loves chasing Laney and balls, too. Just this week she started eating "real" food - bananas, green beans, and pears. Hopefully, we can phase out the nauseating baby food!

This is how most of the photos turned out for this month... very difficult to keep her still.

She and Laney go for which ever toy the other one has. Its getting pretty hilarious to watch them go back and forth.

Love to put Laney's hair in pigtails. My favorite style for her! But it only stays for about 10 minutes, max.

Nana and Papaw sent the girls a Happy in the mail - here is some video of them opening it...

Emerald Isle

We had a great time at the beach, and a lot of relaxing hours, even though it rained almost the whole time. Grandparents took the load off one afternoon and took Laney to the aquarium.

It was super loud since everyone had the same idea as we did... rainy day at the beach? Go to the aquarium!

The gracious family that lets us stay in their condo also has a grandchild, and let us borrow a sand wagon for trips to the beach. Caroline really was as excited as she looks to ride in it.

Laney loved the beach, but would say "ocean? I scared." She preferred playing in the sand.

Laney and Caroline loved Aunt Wilma. Laney started calling her Grandma on her own. She even asked me today where Grandma was and then asked to go to the beach.

Caroline: 8 months

I just saw Caroline's first tooth today! She is crawling all over the place, started climbing up onto the couch, tables, me, and grabs for Laney's food, my food, and even our drinks. She started using a sippy cup with water to appease the desire for Laney's. No more words, but a lot more sounds. Still giggles all the time, and loves to be around people... cries when we leave the room.

Our neighbors to the right have a four-year-old daughter who sometimes plays with Laney. She came over with her old red car the other day and gave it to Laney! (The neighbor now has a power wheels Barbie Escalade) We were so grateful. Laney loves it, asks to ride in it all the time, and Daddy is great at meeting her needs :)

Summertime fun

Nana and Papaw added a fun water-land to our outside toys.

Caroline wasn't crawling at this point, so she stayed next to stuff she could grab and gnaw.

Most of her attention was on Charlie and Laney, but she turns when you call her name.

Laney wanted to know why there was no water in all THREE of the yard pools we have.

Another day... Laney LOVES watching Daddy mow the lawn, and Caroline has picked up the enthusiasm. This was a cool, bug-free alternative.

Caroline: 7 months

Caroline can sit up by herself very confidently, now. She says "Dada" when she's happy, but not for a camera... and is eating rice cereal, oatmeal, vegetables, and starting on fruits.
Cousin Nathan came by this past weekend with Nana and Papaw. They are already bff. And Laney wants to know where she can get an ironic tshirt like his.
Her favorite thing to do is play with her sister and "tickle" Laney's hair. It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. Laney, surprisingly, likes it as much as Caroline does

Fun at home

Here are some pictures and video just because... This one is of Laney playing with her doll on the stairs. She has started to love acting like a mother, and will say "It's ok," and "oh, baby," when she's playing.

This one is of Caroline in her bumbo. She "sings" a lot and still sucks her thumb (just like her momma).

Laney is playing more with her baby doll in this one, but I posted it because I love her walk! She is so cute with the way she struts around, swinging her arms.

Here, you can see her saying "ok," and "bye bye," two of her favorites...

I wish I could get a full video of Laney moving these hangers in Caroline's room. It's one of the coolest things she does. At first, she would just get frustrated, but now she moves every single one, one at a time, to the other side. She says, "hnyer" for "hanger" and when she turns the fan on she says "on," I think.

And, here is Laney planking:
