I like to go to church...
Thanks, mom for the matching outfits. This was taken a couple of weeks ago. It was the first Sunday I took both girls to church by myself. Barak had to work 6-6, so I just braved it! I shot for about 30 minutes before I needed to be there, and everything worked out great! We even had time to take some pictures before we left. Laney was talking to Caroline in her car seat, "Heeeey, Baby!"

Laney's kitchen!
Thank you, Aunt Cassie and Uncle Matt! Unbelievable craftsmanship ;)
First time seeing it.
"Door" also means "close the drawer."
This is when she made the connection about the sink.
Here she's playing with the ice cream (thanks Gramma!). I made the mistake of drawing her attention to the camera. Once I do that, she only wants to look at the screen and see herself :)

Caroline: 3 months
She's so big! ... That's just about all I can think of Caroline these days. Laney is helping herself to a little growing, too. I can't see Laney as a baby anymore. She's such a little girl!

Caroline is super alert, and loves to follow Laney around with her eyes. She smiles the most when Laney is around, especially if Laney pats her head or touches her hands or tries to tickle her feet.

Caroline has moved into a pretty good sleep schedule, but the past few nights she's started waking around 3am after going to sleep around 7pm. I think I'm going to try getting her through it somehow, 'cause it's wearing me out! It's hard to let her cry during the night, since sometimes it wakes Laney... then I have 2 screamers. yuk.

Our baby is getting really good at holding her head up. She still does the "flying man" when she's on her belly (head and feet in the air at the same time). But she insists on keeping her head to the left side. I'm trying hard to do what I can when she's awake to put it on the right. I've even tried when she's asleep, but she moves it right back. We don't want a flat-head, girl!

Everyone asks how Laney likes having a sister. I think she was meant for it! She still gives Caroline kisses and hugs her a lot. She gets jealous sometimes when I am feeding the baby and can't play with her, but it only lasts about a minute and then she's totally distracted with something else. (like her new kitchen!)

Big Sister Laney
The letters of Laney's name are above her crib, and almost every morning when we get her out of bed, we have spelled it out and then pointed to her and said, "Laney!" Well, recently she's started saying her own name after we spell it. Here's a video of me trying to capture that. I found some alphabet flash cards on the dollar isle at Target (which she LOVES... really big score) and spelled her name out for her. She says it really quietly, so you have to listen closely.
Here we have Laney opening the box of clothes from Deedee. She loved it. I left the box and clothes in the room until I had time to wash them that night, and she packed and unpacked it a thousand times. She would get excited each time and say, "oh!" with a squeal. Sorry it tool so long to post, Mom. And to everyone else - it's a little long.
Here's a classic time enjoying a book with her daddy. She gets really excited about some pages. She likes to add some dialogue...

Caroline: 2 months
I posted this on Feb 17, but for some reason, it's posting it out of order... sorry it's too early.
Caroline is showing a lot of personality, if I ever get the time to talk only with her. Laney loves talking to her, too, and making her smile...

It's amazing to look back one month and see how much she has grown. It's impossible to remember when Laney was this young, which is weird... but it's still hard to think about those first few days when Caroline was born. I'm glad we have pictures and videos.
She focuses on your face when you come into the room, laughs when you tickle her feet or sing to her, and coos when you have time to talk to her. It's hard not giving her as much time as I know I gave Laney. But Laney still gives her kisses and hugs each time she sees her. Caroline sleeps with her mouth open still, but is on a pretty great sleep schedule so far. Since about 6 weeks she goes to sleep around 8:30 pm (exactly at Laney's bedtime!) and not wake up until 4 or 5 am. Then, she started eating every 2 1/2 hours during the day instead of every 2. Just 30 minutes makes a big difference :) She also takes 4 hour naps on bath days. I do it every other day, and she loves it, just like Laney did.
Caroline is also too big for "newborn" clothes and has moved on to "0-3 month." This outfit is 3 mo., and just a bit too big. I suppose she'll have to be Daddy's favorite a little while longer ;) It has cute pants that go with it, but I wanted you to see her skinny legs and cute little feet.
