Fall is here

Laney was super proud of her tower this day, so we took a picture. She is so fun.

The bottom two drawers of this dresser have been broken for a couple of years, and I just now did something about it. Really, all I had to do was take the drawers and tracks out of the bottom and slide in some baskets. The dresser already had flat boards between the two spaces. The baskets were where I had classroom books stored. I got rid of the classroom books and replaced them with clothes. (The post-it notes are for the Wests who were coming in that weekend. It helps for them to know where everything is).

I stacked kids' books in the drawers and have found that, even though it's not as pleasing to the eye, the girls can see everything and they don't make a mess every time they want to read a book on a shelf.

Meredith LOVES shoes. She has started saying "she Ah?" which means "shoes on." These are Caroline's shoes that she had on for a good part of the evening.

We took a cue from Cassie and let the girls decorate some boxes.

Highlights! Delane subscribed for the girls. It brings back so many memories. They make magazines for Meredith's age, too!

Barak was planting grass in our front yard, and got an extra bail of hay for the girls.

Big hit.

Last bits of summer

Here are some recent library pictures.
Laney is in the gray. The book was about fall, so the librarian had the kids throw leaves when she said certain words.

Meredith definitely walked into the middle of it and was very happy.

She can climb up the toddler slide and slide all by herself. She loves it.

This was one day before pre-school.

The girls have created what they call a "cave" between Caroline's bed and the loveseat in the corner. They really really like playing in there.

Feeding the chickens.

Caroline sometimes thinks she is Lincoln's mommy.

Louisville and Dad visit

Not sure why this is spaced so far down...
Dad drove to Charlotte a few days before his Father's Day gift of going to a golf game on the PGA tour in Atlanta.

The girls were exceptional. The first time they saw him was when we picked them up from preschool, and they ran to him and gave him a hug - without any coaxing or prep time! I was so happy.

We played outside a lot, and the girls showed dad our chickens.

Caroline asked to take a picture with Meredith the other day. This is how excited she was when I took it :)

The girls all got colds the first week of their new class at school, so Caroline had to use the nebulizer again. All colds seem to go straight to her chest. She's becoming a pro, though, and can hold it by herself. She's being silly here for the camera and making funny faces.

After we went to VA for Meredith's party, we drove straight to KY for a few days. Here is Caroline in the hotel talking on her phone to Papaw.

We took the kids all kinds of places while we were there, and met up with the Kiels and Davidsons almost every time. The seminary's gym, racquetball court, and toy train room were a big hit.

We miraculously were able to get all the kids still at the same time to take a picture. Cousins! This was in the mall during a rainy day.

Mere party in VA

Feeling sick for me means no baby food jars for Meredith. Both she and Caroline have enjoyed the veggie and fruit pouches in their place. Laney eats enough veggies on her own not to need them :)

It was so fun to watch Meredith play with the "big kid" toys this trip.

Delane threw a party at Grandma Coffey's for Meredith. So much family came from West and Coffey sides. It was a huge success.

Her favorite game is to walk around as long as you'll hold her hand. Grandparents go for just a little longer than mom and dad ;)

Cupcake time!

Meredith was the entertainment for a few minutes.

Thank you for all of the presents! She plays with the puzzles and dolls everyday :)
