Meredith one month

Our sweet number three is such an angel baby. She never fusses, cries only when she's hungry, and gives us lots of smiles and coos.

Meredith lost some weight after her first week, so, unlike her sisters, I had to wake her every 2 hours to eat. We ended up pumping everything so we knew how much she was getting.

Caroline has been sick since thanksgiving, but still keeps us laughing. She is out of diapers and is out to win most adorable in her preschool class. She sings and dances all the time, loves building towers, and "baby dogs" (baby dolls). She still sucks her thumb and twirls other people's hair. We love our Caroline-O!

Meredith 4 months

Our sweet baby can find and hold her toes, and grab and play with toys. We'll try to start rice cereal sometime soon. Her sisters and Daddy have been really sick, but she managed to float on through without any harm!

Some new stuff

It's not quite her four month mark, but Meredith has grown so much in the last two weeks. She sleeps through the night now, 7 to 7. She sits up in the bumbo for long periods of time, tries her danged-est to suck her thumb, even though we try to keep her paci in. We think Caroline gets sick so much because of sucking her thumb. Meredith cries loudly right away when she doesn't get what she wants, not a lot of the faint "I'm pitiful" cry anymore. She talks all the time and smiles even more. She spins on her back, I never know which way she'll be facing when I get her from the crib. 

Meredith prefers sitting up or help standing. Whenever I sing the song "good morning" that we heard on the radio growing up, she is very quiet and gives me smiles as she turns her head shyly away. 

I know the newborn days are gone now. I already miss rocking her little body, feeling her soft head on my cheek, and just the sweetness of the first few months. I am really excited to see her grow up, but I'm savoring every step.

Meredith: 3 months

My heart is overwhelmed with love for all three of our girls. It's so exciting and a little bit sad when they reach milestones in their growth. Meredith smiles so much, is always content, and is eager to be a part of whatever we're doing.

She follows intently with her eyes, and has even started laughing. Most nights she goes down around 7:30, eats around midnight and 4am, then wakes for the day around 8. She'll take a few naps, but really prefers being in the middle of the action.

I can see Barak in her more than I do in Laney and Caroline, and that makes me see how special and beautiful she is. She can hold her head up for a long time without help, and we're about ready to get out the bumbo.

This was right before bed/after baths, so crazy times. I love Meredith's smile in this one. She's so happy with her sisters.

Meredith 2 months

We spent today at the Brownings. It went so smoothly, mainly because Mere was asleep the whole time. The girls love playing with "baby jack." 

When Meredith finally woke up after her 5 hour unprecedented nap, she was so sweet, smiling, cooing, but quickly asked for someone to full her belly.

"Baby mermif wake up in the mornin, aw, so cewt."

Meredith coos and smiles a lot, can hold her head up well, and likes her tummy time. She's sleeping in her crib but, unlike Laney, still wakes up once around 2am to eat. if you put a toy next o her, she'll swat or kick at it. L and C like to lay down on the play mat with her and she usually really likes the interaction.

One of our favorite gifts is a monogrammed bunny that's as big as she is. Thank you, Cochrans!

A little time

We were able to send Laney and Caroline to Nana and Papaw's this weekend, so I got some one on one time with Meredith! 

She's great during tummy time, and spins around like she's trying to go somewhere. 

She's just so big already, and isn't even 2 months. She wakes up once around 2am and then again for the day at around 6am. She eats really well, about 4 oz total during each awake time, but prefers to spread it out a couple if ounces at a time. 

She never fusses unless she's hungry, and has even started waking up cooing instead of crying.

Meredith comes home

I had forgotten how tiny newborns are; how they barely fit into the carseat.

Laney loved her from the beginning. She asked to hold her and gave her lots of kisses.

Once Caroline woke up from her nap, she welcomed Meredith just as happily. "Oh, baby Merdif so cute!"

Meredith is born

August 19 early morning Meredith came as easy as pie. She was a week early, and a little under the weight the doctors liked, so we had to keep her warm and fed.

We kept the birth certificate until the last day in the hospital, trying to decide on her sweet middle name... We were running out I girl options!

She had lots of visitors. Everyone agreed she looks similar to her sisters, but has her own special "look."

Laney is 3

We didn't have a "party" but made the whole day fun and then had Cassie, Matt, Baby Jack and Jesse and Alicia over for dinner. Click on the links for videos.

We started the day with presents and cards that came in the mail, then went to Monkey Joe's for the "big slides." After that, we had some "ice cream" at Cherry Berry with sprinkles and "chocolate beans," or M&Ms.

We also went to a cupcake place, but the pictures are on Barak's phone. As soon as I get them onto the computer, I'll post them.
